Take the hassle out of making screenshots by using Paparazzi! This nice, free app lets you load up a web site at a specified screen size to quickly create a screen shot. No more worrying about cropping out scrollbars, menus, etc. Here's a sample:
It saves files in PNG, PDG, JPG, and TIFF formats and also lets you save thumbnails. On top of that, you can change the default filename format and edit the screen size presets. Link via: TUAW Tuesday, March 14

From Adrants: Boston agency Hill Holliday has tossed its traditional site and launched a weblog. No, they didn't just add a blog to their already existing site, they ditched it entirely. Well, almost. They've done a wonderful job incorporating some of the usual capabilities and portfolio items into the header of the blog using Flash. This is a great way to get the best of both worlds. As Adrants notes, they will likely see the love from traditional and blog search engines. The blog format makes it easier for them to manage their content and also start conversations with their current and prospective clients. The Flash header with their portfolio is a great idea. Both of these were recently features by TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog). First is ColorBurn. Its sole purpose in life is to give you a new color pallete suggestion every day. Some are good, some are bad but eye of the beholder and all that...

John Jantsch at the Duct Tape Marketing Blog has a post up where he notes that marketing expert Bob Bly says just that. But, Bly does have an interesting twist: Instead, do the following ... John follows up with his own advice: What if you printed an offer on your business card and gave it away like a powerful direct mail piece - now, somehow, I think even Bob would have trouble arguing with that use. Create a free newsletter, report or audio download and promote that on your business card and you will have one great way to use a business card. Of course the problem with Bly's advice is that everyone can't do it. Check out the full article and be sure to subscribe to the Duct Tape Marketing Blog. I've had it in my feed reader for a few months now and nearly every post has something I can use in it.

So, here it is another Friday and you were sitting around saying to yourself: self, where can I download MP3s of the computerized voice used by online dictionaries singing my favorite songs? Luckily, we heard you (thanks, NSA we owe ya one!) and found a link to Dictionaroake where you can do just that. Attached to this entry is Girls from the Beastie Boys. Link via: Ross Rader

Seems this is what Screenvision said to Philips when Philips wanted to run a :15 spot before a movie instead of the standard 4:00 spot, while still paying them the 4:00 price.
This is for everyone sitting in a box right now. Fortune Magazine is running an article about how the Inventor of the Cubicle regrets his invention.

Ok, so we didn't bring home the bacon, but hey, its not like the ADDYs are judged
on actual effectiveness and the ability of an ad(s) to produce results for clients.
Plus, its not every day that a little shop like ours wins at the National level
(2003). So one would consider a dry spell since then just a bit of paying the
dues. Conspiracy theory? Sure!Anyway, congrats to those who did win. Nice to know that Orlando is cranking out some nice work. We are a competitive bunch. Check out this reel for the show: www.addyskillz.com Friday, March 3
